Sketchbook 01

So, lately I've taken a break from the laptop screen and I've spent quite a bit of time doodling on scrap pieces of paper and creating idea mood boards in my sketchbooks. I think it's nice to keep up the traditional way of drawing, instead of creating every design digitally. I thought it would be a lovely idea to share with you all some snapshots of what I've been working on...

This is an idea that I am currently working on, it's a design that I'm hoping to turn into another pre-made logo. I've started messing around with a few fonts which would work well and also the shape and style that I want to go for. I'm hoping to try and include and anchor somewhere in my design, so at the minute, it's back to the drawing board!

Seems as though I am basing this design on a seafood restaurant, I had a go at adding some watercolour as a reference to the sea. As you can see, I did use pink.. but it was the only colour that was beside me at the time so I just went along with it...

Even though I was only creating a mood board, I got carried away with my pencil and decided to add an anchor to the page, to be honest I'm really pleased with the outcome considering it was only a doodle to begin with. I could possibly use this on my design instead of creating a basic anchor shape in Illustrator, as it would add character to the logo.
