Jim Tierney is an illustrator who specialises in designing book covers, these are just a few examples of his work that I like. I think the style of this first image is quite appealing as he has done it using pens, this would be good media and style to use on the front of my book covers.
I'm really interested in the use of ovals on book covers, which is why I chose the second image. I am hoping to do this technique on my designs, so it's the main subject that you look at.
Although the colours that Jim Tierney uses are nice, they're a bit too dull for what I'd like to do. I'm thinking more along the lines of pastel blues and purples.
